Downtown Huntington Beach has for decades embodied the spirit of the surfing, fishing and overall beach culture. The Huntington Beach Pier and Main Street have long been the primary destination location that spawned new housing development. From south of the pier north to Goldenwest, you will find the numbered streets 1st - 22nd. From PCH to Palm (6 blocks), the area has been zoned to split 50' wide lots into two 25' lots. As a result, the "tall and skinny" homes, 19' wide and frequently 3 stories, have become extremely common and have changed the face of numbered streets dramatically over the last 30 years. The lifestyle in the numbered streets is what most people would dream of in other parts of the country. Walking distance to the beach, volleyball, Main Street restaurants and a bike path that will take you north to Long Beach and South to Newport Beach. Home values in the numbered streets are largely determined by the year the homes were built, views, the condition of the surrounding homes and the proximity to the ocean.
